A 6.6 mile hike up to Chimney Pond on Mount Katahdin in Millinocket, Maine. disregardwomen

It’s funny that I’ve done the state high point in Colorado, but not the one in the state I live in.  Hopefully I’ll change that soon— either I won’t live in Maine anymore or I’ll hike Katahdin…

The Memorial Bridge in Portsmouth NH is being dismantled today and the span is being floated out. This will sever the road connecting Kittery and Portsmouth.

Leadville, Colorado. June 2011 infiniteforests

When I visited to Colorado for the first time last year, we went from sea level here in New England to 10,000+ feet in Leadville in one day, and then did Elbert at 14,000+ the next day.  At the time it hurt, but looking back it was a great experience, and I hope to go back next year.

Hamlin Ridge, Baxter State Park, Maine, the Knifes Edge in the background. vang0gh

Hopefully next summer I’ll get to do Kathadin.  People think because it’s in Maine and I grew up in Maine that I must’ve done it, but it’s like 5 hours away.
